One way to increase excitement for any game is to produce a mind-blowing media kit, and here at Fluid we like to think we’re pretty good at them! Having already got the kits for Tearaway Unfolded and Until Dawn under our ever-expanding belt, Sony asked us to create an alluring package to promote one of their most prestigious releases of the year – Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. We used old map imagery, a Francis Drake motto and a laser cut silhouette of Drake to trace his journey through the Uncharted series.
These media kits were conceived, produced and delivered to a staggering 31 countries in 4 weeks, allowing people to receive the kits well in advance of the game’s retail release. We got to sit back and watch as eager YouTubers filmed themselves unboxing the game, and even witnessed a few heated Ebay auctions as everyone rushed to get their hands on them! Whether the USB flash drives got flagged up at customs as being mistaken for real bullets remains a mystery, but this media kit was a huge success and a memorable keepsake worthy of the series.
Uncharted The Nathan Drake Collection debuted at #1 on the PlayStation Store charts, and sales increased by 999% during Black Friday.
