LONDON GAMES FESTIVAL

London Game Festival kicks off tomorrow, the 10 day festival brings together developers with investors from all over the world and the UK. Packed with events over the course of the festival, it has something for every gamer, developer and enthusiast. We picked out some of the events we are most anticipating!


  • Now Play This: 6th April – 8th April

Now Play This hosts a experimentally diverse range of games, they range from the simplistic to the most complex. Some also go back as far as the 1990s, it is the ultimate weekend to see the crazy and brilliant!

This event is great if:

  • You have kids – as there is a game for everyone
  • You are going with your friends – there are multiplayer games available

  • Speakers: 5th April – 15th April

There’s a variety of speakers coming from big companies, such as Devolver Digital and Space Ape. They will cover a range of topics and offer their views on the industry – ideal for those wanting a career in the game industry!

  • You want to know more about having a career in the  industry
  • You have an interest in a particular subject that is being discussed

  • UK Games Showcase: 11th April

This event will showcase the upcoming games for 2018, these include releases from Space Ape and Jagex. With an insight to the successes of last year’s games, developers will also talk about setting up a successful studio.

This event is great if:

  • You want to play games that aren’t out yet
  • You want to interact with the developers and those in the games industry
  • You want to know about setting up a successful studio

  • British Academy Awards Ceremony: 12th April

The BAFTA’s of the game industry, they celebrate the very best of games. Categories include: mobile game, game design, best game and narrative. With big games up for the awards, Fortnite, Overwatch and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, it’s definitely one for the calendar.

  • EGX Rezzed: 13th April – 15th April

EGX Rezzed is one of the biggest highlights of London Games Festival, it features games that haven’t been released as well as developer sessions. It allows those who want a career in the game industry to have a portfolio review and has a career hub.

  • You are interested in the developer sessions
  • You want to play games that haven’t been released yet
